The government is considering taxing the net giants from 2013

PARIS (Reuters) - The French government wants to legislate by the end of the tax applied to large groups as Google, Amazon, Apple and Facebook, taxing the data collected on users , reports Les Echos to appear vendredi.

The newspaper is based on the report on "taxation of the digital economy" controlled by Bercy.

"Web businesses pay little tax in France in relation to their actual activity, the report's authors recommend establishing a tax based on the data they operate," explained the Echos.

According to the newspaper, the government could legislate at the end of the year in the Finance Bill 2014.
